On June 2, 2018, accompanied by the director of police training center in Railway Police College, 26 of senior police officers from Railway Police System in Kenya and Federal Police Office in Ethiopia visited Shaolin Temple and received a warm welcome from Shaolin monks.
Accompanied by Master Yanyun of Shaolin Temple, the police officers visited Shaolin Temple Permanent Residence Compound. The group highly praised of Shaolin Temple’s long history and profound culture and took photos in succession.
In the training room of Shaolin Temple, the premier martial art coach of Shaolin Temple warrior monks group Master Shi Yanzhuang warmly welcomed the police officers. Master Shi Yanzhuang said that Shaolin Temple has close exchanges with Africa. There is to open Shaolin Kungfu training class together with the Ministry of Culture and help African people gain mental and physical benefits. Shaolin Kungfu stresses the unity of Chan and Wu (martial arts). Chan nourishes the mind and Wu (martial arts) builds up the body. It was hoped that everyone could achieve dharma joy and peace in the Shaolin Temple.
Then the police officers learned Shaolin Kungfu from Shaolin warrior monks with great interest.
Visting Shaolin Temple is international law enforcement training programs of the Public Security and one of the activities of the 2018 Railway Security Training Class of East Africa. The training of the center aims to promote cooperation between Chinese and foreign police forces and better protect the interests of the overseas Chinese enterprises and Chinese people. Except police major courses, the group will go to Shaolin Temple, Chenjiagou, the Longmen Grottoes, Millenium City Park, etc. to understand and experience Chinese culture. (Editor: Yue Long)
