At 9 am local time of Oct.14,2014,accompanied by Tu Wei-ming,the professor of the higher institute of Beijing university,Ven. Abbot Shi Yongxin and his party went to Oxford University.They had a communication in Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies and Oxford China Centre .

                                Ven. Abbot Shi Yongxin gave books on Shaolin to Nizami

In Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies,Ven. Abbot Shi Yongxin called on professor Nizami,the director of the centre and professor Richard Makepeace,the dean of Studies.They had a deeply and friendly talk with each other.At the beginning,professor Nizami warmly welcomed Ven. Abbot Shi Yongxin and mentioned that his wish of meeting with him had finally come true.Then,he asked Ven. Abbot Shi Yongxin some questions about the Shaolin culture festival.When he knew Ven. Abbot Shi Yongxin would attend the cultural forum of Christianity and Buddhism in Oxford University,he argued that it is very necessary for this religion dialogue and hoped to carry out in-depth dialogue between Buddhism and Islam.

Ven. Abbot Shi Yongxin introduced his communication with different heads of religions in London and mentioned that Islam in China is developing very well.The local culture and Islam culture has mutually influenced and promoted.After hearing this ,professor Nizami was excited and hoped there would be more religious and cultural exchanges with China.

Subsequently, Ven. Abbot Shi Yongxin went to the China Center and met with the director of the center professor Mitter.Professor Mitter was particularly excited to meet with the abbot and welcomed him in his fluent Chinese.He said Yongxin abbot was the honorable guest in Chinese.He introduced the center ,which was  Europe's largest China research center .They had got lots of achievements and hoping study for more traditional Chinese culture.Ven. Abbot Shi Yongxin welcomed him to attend the forum of "Buddhism and Christianity"in Oxford.

At the end of the talks ,Ven. Abbot Shi Yongxin and his party visited the library of the center.At noon ,Ven. Abbot Shi Yongxin and had lunch together with the experts and scholars at the university of Oxford, and they had a good communication.
