On October 1 in 2024 is the 75th birthday of the People’ s Republic of China. On the morning, Buddhists of Shaolin Temple gathered in the square of the Gateway, holding the national flag-raising ceremony to celebrate the 75th anniversary of China.
On the morning of Sep 28, 2024, Chinese and overseas Chinese Retirement Sodality of Austria and the Austrian Shaolin Cultural Center jointly held the grand party to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Day and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’ s Republic of China. On Sep 29, 2024, just before the national day holiday, under the guidance of the Fugou county’ s united front work department and Bureau of Religious Affairs, hosted by the Buddhist Association of Fugou County and shouldered by the Lanruo Temple, the Buddhist circles in Fugou County to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’ s Republic of China and the 1st painting and calligraphy exhibition named the “Adhering to Sinization ? Following the Correct Path with One Heart”, sponsored in the Lanruo Temple of the Fugou county at 10 o’ clock on the morning. The opening ceremony was presided over by president Li Xia of the Buddhist Association of Fugou County.
On Sep 16, 2024, the 28th day of their hike, Shaolin Temple’ s five monks--Yankun, Yanxing, Yansui, Yancui and Yanqiu, made a three-step-one-bow pilgrimage from the foot of the Jiuhua Mountain to the Hall of the Kshitigarbha. They received a warm welcome from the temple’ s abbot the Grand Monk Huiqing, sharing a tea break there.
From Sep 14 to 15, 2024, senior advisor of the Europe-Asia Center board and former UNESCO secretary-general Irina Bokova, accompanied by Europe-Asia Center’ s secretary general Yan Rui, director Ma Yunhua of China, project director Xiao Tongtong and so on, visited Shaolin Temple to understand its history and cultural inheritance and also deeply experience Shaolin Chan Wu Yi life.
Local time September 15th,2024,in order for the oversea practitioners experience the atmosphere of traditional festivals,the UK Shaolin Xiu Cultural centre and the UK Medicine Buddha Foundation jointly held a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration.
