The center is located in district 5 of in Vienna, the capital of Austria. With strong support from Shaolin Temple’ s abbot Shi Yongxin, as well as in many joint efforts of master Shi Yanliang from Shaolin Temple, local governments, Chinese groups and Austrian friends loving Shaolin culture, the Austrian Shaolin Cultural Center was set up on Oct. 1, 2011. There are 250 regular members and more than 300 mobile students at present. The center has hosted large scale dharma assemblies over 20 times, more than 40 lectures on Shaolin culture and over 20 training courses of Chan cultivation.

Master Shi Yanliang, head of the Austrian Shaolin Cultural Center, is a monk from China Songshan Shaolin Temple. The center has courses of Chan cultivation, Qigong, Shaolin Kungfu and Shaolin Rou Boxing from Monday to Saturday. There are also Buddhist lectures and activities a week.
