On August 15, 2024, the “2024 Shaolin European Association Returning for Pilgrimages to Shaolin Temple” sponsored by the Shaolin European Association, attracted  509 Shaolin disciples from 22 countries in Europe. They arm with love and yearning of Shaolin culture and get through language barrier to return for the source and pilgrimages to Shaolin Temple and also set up a monument to mark the occasion.

At 9 o’ clock on the morning, representatives of the Shaolin European Association lined up to get to the Abbot Hall to invite abbot of Shaolin Temple the Grand Monk Shi Yongxin. In front of the Gateway in the Shaolin Temple, more than 500 European Shaolin disciples waved their own national flags with a warm and peaceful atmosphere.

Abbot Yongxin welcomed European disciples’ arrival and also praised that students from Shaolin cultural centers blessed the essence of Shaolin culture and local culture, which is not only footed and blooms in Europe but also makes friends from all round the world feel the particular charm of Chinese culture, playing an active role to promote diversity and inclusiveness of world culture.
