From July 27 to 29 in 2024, Singapore welcomed a grand event in martial arts circles-- the high-profile Singapore Shaolin Games 2024 was held successfully in Singapore. This competition is not only a comprehensive inspection for Shaolin Kungfu practitioners, but also a vivid display of traditional Chinese culture and Singapore’ s diverse culture.

On July 27, as melodious Guzheng sounded, a Kungfu feast blending tradition and modernity and power and aesthetics formally was kicked off. The event was conferred by China Songshan Shaolin Temple and jointly held by the Singapore Shaolin Cultural Centre, Henan People Association, Asia--Pacific International Intangible Cultural Heritage Committee and other authorities, aiming to carry forward Shaolin Kungfu and promote international martial arts exchanges and cooperation.

The event was strongly supported by multiple parties. Abbot of Shaolin Temple the Grand Monk Shi Yongxin sent monastic manager master Yanchong present to inspect and ensure fairness, justice and profession of the games. Shaolin Kungfu Intangible inheritor master Yanxuan and Shaolin Temple’ s Kungfu monks served as judges who offered professional guidance and evaluation to players with their profound martial arts cultivation and rigorous attitude. Mr. Ma Shangao, minister of Singapore’ s Ministry of Social and Family Development as chairman attended the ceremony, highly speaking of the games.
