The 3rd training courses of the Shaolin Kungfu Duanpin System (the middle stage) opened on May 24, 2021. 43 Shaolin Kungfu practitioners of the middle stage gathered in Songshan Mountain again to study and explore Shaolin Kungfu theories and standard of movement in the Shaolin Kungfu Duanpin System (the middle stage). Master Shi Yongxin, abbot of Shaolin Temple, director Zheng Shumin of the office of the Shaolin Kungfu Duanpin system committee, abbot Yanpei of the Northern Shaolin Temple in Tianjin, master Yange, head of the Sutra-Keeping Pavilion, dean Hong Hao of the martial arts school of Henan University, Ma Lianzhen, master supervisor of South China Normal University were present at the opening ceremony.

Shaolin Kungfu is the national intangible cultural heritage and also an important component of traditional Chinese culture. It has become a symbol of Chinese culture in the world and is deeply loved by people around the world. Shaolin Kungfu’ s long history of inheritance and goal of unity of Chan (meditation) and Wu (martial arts) distinguish it from other martial arts. Shaolin Kungfu has the inheritance way of master instructing apprentice, and features of combining dynamic and static realms, strengthening health and improving soul through putting martial arts into Chan, both of which give it unique charm. 

There have been more than three thousand people systematically received standard training of Shaolin Kungfu successively since Shaolin Temple sponsored the Shaolin Kungfu Duanpin system at the end of 2019. According to the statistics, there are tens of millions of people practicing Shaolin Kungfu around the world. At the opening ceremony, abbot Yongxin said inheritors of Shaolin Kungfu would shoulder the responsibility of systematically, scientifically guiding practitioners to study Shaolin Kungfu and making Shaolin Kungfu form ties with sentient beings to service human physical and mental health better.

Dean Hong Hao explained the Introduction to Shaolin Kungfu had officially published, providing the theory basis for the Shaolin Kungfu Duanpin system. The advanced stage of the Tutorial Series of the Shaolin Kungfu Duanpin System would also be finished. He believed that Shaolin Kungfu would realize standardization development and socialized popularization in the new era in everyone’ s efforts under the leadership of master Shi Yongxin.

Students will follow teachers to systematically study theoretical and technical courses of the Shaolin Kungfu Duanpin system in the next four days. Students who pass the examination will accept certificates issued by abbot Shi Yongxin of Shaolin Temple.
